The Lochinvar/TiSUN Commercial Solar Pump Station, complete with Differential Solar Control is an all in one solar
pumping package. Standard features include a differential control with eight different system capabilities, variable speed
pump, air separator, flush and fill valves, safety group, and EPP two piece insulation. Lochinvar can provide the right pump
station to meet almost any solar pumping need.
Available in three sizes, capable of providing flow through up to 1000 square feet of collector area, the Commercial Solar
Pump Station can provide adequate flow through many different size collector arrays.
How it works...
The Lochinvar/TiSUN Commercial Solar Pump Station with Solar Differential Control constantly
monitors the collector temperature and the tank temperature. As the tank temperature cools below
setpoint and the difference between the two temperatures reaches a field adjustable setpoint, the
differential control will start the circulation pump. If the variable speed pump feature is utilized
the solar differential control will adjust the speed of the pump to achieve the highest temperature
difference between the collector and the tank.
This large temperature difference will harvest the solar heat in the most efficient manner possible.
If the constant flow feature is used the pump will operate at a steady speed. The pump will
continue to operate until the tank reaches its desired temperature or there is no longer sufficient
difference between the collector and the tank temperature to heat the tank.

The differential control has eight preset system types that can be selected to match control logic to system type.
For example if you had one collector array and one tank the control scheme would match System 1. There is a preset
system program for different system types.

Extra Programmable Functions
In addition to the eight preset system types, the Lochinvar/TiSUN Solar Pump Station with Differential Control has four extra
functions that can be added to many of the system types to expand the system’s functionality. Extra functions include a
thermostat output for enabling an external heat source, a cooling function for keeping the tank at a usable temperature during
times of high solar radiation, an anti-stagnation function to keep the collector at a usable temperature during times of low or no
hot water demand, and a differential control function that can be used to prioritize the heat distributed to additional heat loads.
