Staff Changes:
We say welcome back to Mrs Patrick who returns to Grange following a term’s
sabbatical to attend a Welsh specialist teaching course at Swansea University.
We also say farewell to Mrs Bliszco who has left to take up another post
elsewhere.
Building Improvement Works
During the holiday period we have
completed the next phase of our
improvement plans. The windows in the
hall and the front of the building have
been completely replaced with smart
new energy saving windows. I hope you
will agree that the building is looking
very smart.

Building Improvement Works- Gate
The security improvement to the main
gate is now complete. The gate will
remain closed to vehicles except those
by arrangement with the school, and no
vehicles will be allowed to enter or exit
during 8.40 and 9.00 in the morning and
3.10 – 3.30 in the afternoon, with the
exception of emergency vehicles. We
ask that you kindly respect this rule in
the interests of safety. We also ask you
to be mindful that stopping on the zig

unnecessary danger for pedestrians in
the vicinity of the main school
entrance.
Breakfast Club
You may be aware that earlier this week
the South Wales Evening Post ( Tuesday
14 April) ran an article about School
breakfast clubs in Swansea. At Grange
we currently operate a breakfast club
from 7.45 – 8.30. As with all our
additional clubs we ask for voluntary
donations from parents towards costs.
The time and cost of these clubs varies
from school to school. Originally the
service was a free provision to ensure
all children received a breakfast to start
the day. Over the ten years it has been
in operation this has developed so that
the service is primarily now free
childcare for working parents. We shall
be continuing the breakfast club at
Grange but it is likely that in order to
do so we will have to make a charge.
The governors will be discussing this at
their next meeting and I will keep you
fully informed.
After School Clubs
Termly Class
overviews will be
available to view/
download from our
website next week.
They are also
displayed in the main
school foyer.
We continue to run after school clubs,
the timetable for which can be found on
our website, along with a booking form.
May I respectfully again request that
bookings along with monies are
submitted to the office on Monday
mornings to enable us to plan resources
and staffing according to needs.
Cookery and craft clubs are particularly
popular and we would welcome any

Packed Lunches
Sue Kite
Head teacher
During the clement weather that we
have all been enjoying, the children are
eager to get fed and on to the field to
play as quickly as possible at lunchtime.
To facilitate this we are going to offer
children bringing packed lunches to sit
under the trees for their lunch. This will
enable children taking hot meals to get
through quicker so that all the children
will have a little longer to play. We
shall also be sending wrappers and
with either of these or indeed any other
of our clubs. Again, we are currently
continuing to offer these clubs on a
voluntary contribution basis. Any surplus
funding received is used directly on
resources for the children.

that you are able to see how much your
child has eaten etc.
