Job Description: General Responsibilities, Activities and Duties The Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service is the sole prosecuting authority in Scotland. Our administrative teams provide the vital operational support that keeps our offices running smoothly. Fiscal Officers have contact with a wide range of people. It is important and often challenging work that can have a real impact on people’s lives. You will be a good team player and have the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Role Specific Responsibilities, Activities and Duties The post holder will be the first point of contact for COPFS and will answer telephone requests and email requests for information from members of the public, police and solicitors. The post holder will use COPFS IT systems to extract and log information to deal with these requests and when required pass the details to the appropriate office. The Enquiry Point is based within the Dumbarton PFO and is responsible for answering all incoming calls to main PF office numbers. It is based in the Procurator Fiscal’s Office, St Mary’s Way, Dumbarton. The Enquiry Point is open Mon to Thurs 8:30am – 6 pm and Fri 8:30am – 5 pm Person Specification All competencies, as indicated within the Competency Framework, are relevant to the role and illustrate the level of competence expected of an employee in this grade.
