Meet the Teacher-Ice Cream Social
August 7th
Kindergarten Boot Camp
Tindley Summit Academy will open its doors this August, as the
second elementary school in the Tindley Accelerated Schools
network. Summit will serve grades K-3, but will eventually serve 4th
and 5th grade scholars as well. Summit teachers and administration
believe that “it takes a village” to ensure the success of a child.
Summit staff looks forward to working alongside you and your
scholar to create an absolutely dynamic 2014-15 school year!
We will be hosting a “Meet the
Teacher” Ice Cream Social on
Saturday, July 26th from 3-5pm!
Check out Tindley Summit and
enjoy a sweet treat at the Ice
Cream Social. Classrooms will be
open for viewing and staff will be
on hand to answer any questions
you may have. We hope to see
you there! 

Two Heads are Better than One 
Did you know that Tindley
Summit is the only school in the
Tindley Accelerated network to
have two principals? Mr. Ely and
Mrs. Beavers met 4 years ago
while in school working toward
their administrative licenses.
They may seem different, but
their passion for learning and
vision for Summit scholars is very
much the same.
Co-Principals Lead the Climb to the “Summit of Excellence”
Mrs. Brooke Beavers is a passionate supporter of
quality education for all scholars. Her dedication and
commitment to advocating on behalf of children is
relentless. This is Brooke’s 12th year in the education
profession. She has taught middle school, lower
elementary and English as a Second Language. She
most recently served at Tindley Collegiate’s Assistant
Principal of Academics for the 2013-14 school
year.Brooke received her Bachelor’s Degree in
Liberal Studies from the University of California,
Riverside and her Master’s Degree in Teaching from
Chapman University in Orange County, California.
She obtained her school administrator’s license from
Marian University’s Academy for Teaching and
Learning Leadership and is currently working on her
Doctorate in Educational Leadership through Indiana
State University. She was granted the “Torchbearer”
award in 2013 for being named Tindley Network
Teacher of the Year for her school.
Mr. Shy-Quon Ely II, is dedicated to serving and
helping others achieve peak performance and
personal growth through education, empowerment,
and character development. Ely is a firm believer that
all people have an inner genius waiting to be
unleashed. He has made a reputation of excellence,
service, and leadership in the inner city and suburban
communities and has successfully role modeled for
thousands through his work in education, martial arts,
and athletics. Also a co-founder of the academic
enrichment organization, FusiK MusIQ Inc., Ely
earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Science from
Purdue University; an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan
University; and an Education Administration License
from Marian University’s Academy for Teaching and
Learning Leadership. He is currently working towards
a doctoral degree in Education through Indiana State
University.
