Defining the term - Contract

A written or spoken agreement, especially one concerning employment,
sales, or tenancy, that is intended to be enforceable by law.

An Employment Contract is the contract between the employer and the
employee which states the duties and responsibilities of both parties
which the agree on for the length of the contract or employment


The relationship between employer and employee is complex and both have
legal rights in terms of this relationship.

Contracts, agreements, procedures, policies and law govern these
relationships.

Rights of employees are laid out in staff handbooks and Contracts of
employment.
