COOPERATION PROTOCOL BETWEEN

AIM
ARTICLE 1- In order to promote and extend mutual cooperation and understanding, Akdeniz
University and …………………. agree to establish scientific and educational cooperation.
PARTIES
ARTICLE 2- The parties to the protocol are Akdeniz University and ……………………..
SCOPE
ARTICLE 3- The parties agree to cooperate on joint scientific studies, and in educational
areas of common interest to the academic members of both universities.
ARTICLE 4- The parties agree to provide for the exchange of students, teaching staff
members and researchers.
ARTICLE 5- Exchange applications from the above mentioned students, teaching staff
members and researchers will be evaluated by the hosting institution according to the facilities
available, and the conditions prevailing at the hosting institution.
ARTICLE 6- The parties agree to engage in mutual knowledge-sharing, and to provide for
the exchange of scientific publications for educational and research purposes.
ARTICLE 7- The parties agree to organize joint scientific activities (seminars, symposiums,
congresses, conferences etc.) on condition that mutual agreement can be reached on the nature
and purpose of these activities.
ARTICLE 8- The parties agree to invite teaching staff members of the other university to the
scientific conferences which they organize.
ARTICLE 9- The parties agree to cooperate on cultural activities.
ARTICLE 10- This protocol has no financial obligation. This protocol shall not cause any
binding financial obligation for either party.
ARTICLE 11- The responsible coordinator for Akdeniz University for the purposes of
administering the terms of this protocol is the Head of the International Relations Office.

Any change in the designated coordinator for one party shall be communicated in writing to
the coordinator of the other party within 30 days of any such change.

DURATION
ARTICLE 12- This protocol will become valid when it has been signed by the legal
representatives of both parties, and it will be valid for a period of 5 (five) years. The protocol
may be extended for a further 5 (five) years if mutual agreement is reached, and written
consent is provided.
VALIDITY
ARTICLE 13- The protocol and the supplements to the protocol will become valid when
they have been signed by the legal representatives of both parties.
ARTICLE 14- Either party may terminate the protocol by presenting written notice to the
other party 6 (six) months prior to termination. In the case of termination of the protocol, all
on-going activities shall be completed.
ARTICLE 15- The parties agree that the protocol is prepared in Turkish and English
languages as four original copies, and it will become valid when all copies have been signed
by the authorized legal representatives of both parties.
