3) Review GEM Outcomes
Roy suggested stronger language on the outcome 2 / indicator 2. Wants to tell people that the commissions are
more accountable vs. just ‘actively involved’. Lots of discussion among the team. Mary noted that we can’t write
this as responsible, per canon law.
Agreed to keep the ‘actively involved’ because they can’t be the end approver.
Kadee noted that Fr. Tim has agreed with the outcomes documented (handed out at the meeting)

Measuring Mass Attendance
Jerry noted that we want to get a trend over time for this measurement vs. needing to worry about specific
numbers. We just need to just do a rough headcount at specific times of the year. Timeframe discussed:
o Ordinary Time (4 or 5 times a year)
o Summer time
o Lent
Roy suggested we have a subgroup to drive this.
We agreed to have a subgroup to drive. Steve, JV, and Kadee will meet to get a plan and to gather counters as
well. We will report back next time.
We want to capture trends, not specifics.
Last time we did it we have 1400 registered people. Average was around 1100 (taken last October)
4) Define Ministry Groups
Kadee handed out. Has also been sent out via email. (and attached to these notes)
Jon suggested we come up with common names for our commissions vs. “churchy” names that require definition
for the parish community. (i.e. social justice)
We worked through the whiteboard to define the commissions.

There was a lot of discussion around where youth will fit in. The group resolved to keep Youth as a commission for
now and see where ministries fit in during next meeting.

We agreed that we weren’t interested in the specific names at this point, only what the commissions would be.
Naming of the commissions would come later.

Commissions tentatively identified are with aligned staff assignments:
(1) Education / Faith Formation [Lynn]
(2) Outreach / Social Justice [Mickey]
(3) Worship / Liturgy & Music [Patrice]
(4) Pastoral Care [Bob & Sharon]
(5) Parish Life [Dione]
(6) Youth [Eric]
5) Team Updates
a) Now is a good time to address the FSCS problem. Need to have priests embrace FSCS. School parents are some of
the most active parishioners.
b) There isn’t any staff feedback on this process as of yet.
6) Next Meeting
Next PPC GEM Meeting is next week, March 6th (i.e. the 1st and the 3rd Tuesdays).
There is a general PPC meeting this coming week 2/28.
