Tanzania Commission for Universities Second Round Application for Form Six Applicants Who Could Not Be Selected During the First Round of Application and New Applicants who did not apply During the First Round. i) Overview TCU hereby informs applicants who could not be selected during the first round of application that the Central Admission System (CAS) is now open for them to re-apply. Also new applicants who did not apply during the first round of application are invited to apply. A list of applicants who were not selected and a list of programmes with slots are available on TCU website. Some of the reasons for not been selected including among others wrong choices, incomplete applications and competition. Applicants who were not selected are not required to pay another application fee and should reapply using the following steps:ii) How to Re-apply ( Not selected applicants) iii) Open TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz) i) ii) Click CAS on the top menu of the TCU website to open the Central Admission System. Log in to your profile using your username and password. iii) Click the Application button. iv) v) Select O N L Y O N E P R O G R A M M E f r o m a v a i l a b l e slots on TCU Website. Click the confirmation boxes below. vi) Submit your application. vii) Click on your Profile link, Click on View My Selection Status to view the selected programme. viii) Check for Eligibility on the selected programme. ix) When eligibility status indicates YES, that means you meet the minimum entry requirements and you are ELIGIBLE into that particular programme. x) When Eligibility status indicates NO, that means you are NOT ELIGIBLE in that programme, click on CLEAR application link to remove the programme and select another programme from programme list. xix) Repeat step (vi-ix) above xx) Logout your profile. iv)How to Apply (New applicants) i) Open TCU website (www.tcu.go.tz) ii) iii) Click CAS on the top menu of the TCU website to open the Central Admission System. Click Registration button. iv) Select your category (eg. Form Six or Foreign) v) Fill registration form accordingly. vi) After filling the form click the Register button. vii) viii) A message will be displayed with your username informing you that you have successfully registered. Login to your profile by your username ix) Enter your password (the one you created during registration). x) Click login. xi) Click the Application button. xii) Select O N L Y O N E P R O G R A M M E f r o m a v a i l a b l e slots on TCU Website. xiii) Click the confirmation boxes below. xiv) Submit your application. xv) Click on your Profile link, Click on View My Selection Status to view the selected programme. xvi) Check for Eligibility on the selected programme. xvii) When eligibility status indicates YES, that means you meet the minimum entry requirements and you are ELIGIBLE into that particular programme. xviii) When Eligibility status indicates NO, that means you are NOT ELIGIBLE in that programme, click on CLEAR application link to remove the programme and select another programme from programme list. xix) Repeat step (xiii - xvi) above xx) Logout your profile. NOTE: i) Applicants are advised to read carefully the admission requirements of each programme they anticipate to apply as shown in the Admissions’ Guidebook available on TCU website: www.tcu.go.tz to confirm that they have the necessary qualification of the preferred programme. iii) The selection will base on first come first served basis. iv) When a certain programme become full, it will not be displayed among the lists of available slots in the system and therefore you will be required to select another programme. v) A list of programmes with slots are available on TCU website. 4.0 Mode of payment for New Applicants The payments for both form six applicants and applicants with foreign ‘O’ level and/or ‘A’-level certificates will be done through NBC bank. 4.1 Application fee for New Applicants i) Tanzanians will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee of TSHS.50, 000/- payable through NBC branches country wide, ii) Non-Tanzanians will be required to pay a non-refundable application fee of US$60 through CAS Account at any NBC bank countrywide (TCU-CAS Acc. No.074139000021), and iii) Non-Tanzanians residing outside Tanzania will be required to pay iv) US$60 through CAS account number (TCU-CAS v) Acc.No.074139000021). the swift code: NLCBTZTX. 4.2 Clarification on the payment process. i) After paying a non-refundable fee of TSH. 50,000/-, Tanzanian applicants will be given scratch cards (Application Vouchers) by the respective NBC Branch where the payment has been made that they will use to register through CAS. ii) After paying a non-refundable fee of US$60, Non- Tanzanians residing inside and outside Tanzania should EITHER submit physically proof of payment to TCU OR send through email: [email protected]; [email protected] or Fax Number: +25522-2772891 to enable TCU to send them Voucher Numbers. They must also attach their valid personal emails or mobile numbers for communication purpose. NOTE: i) Holders of Advanced Certificate of Secondary Examination who completed from 1988 to 2013 must have at least two ‘E’ in their A level results as the minimum qualification to join degree programmes while applicants who completed in 2014 their grades will be translated into Old Grading System as illustrated in the table below: New Grading System (2014 onwards) A B+ B C D E F Old Grading System (1988-2013) A B C D E S F Weight (points) 5 4 3 2 1 0.5 0 ii) Applicants with foreign certificates will be required to submit their certificates to National Examination Council of Tanzania (NECTA) for equivalence. To download equivalence form visit: http://www.necta.go.tz/fomu.html. iii) Applicants with foreign certificates are required to submit to TCU the following documents for verification purpose: a) Certified copy (copies) of equivalence letter obtained from NECTA; b) Certified copy(copies)of secondary school certificate obtained outside Tanzania or different from NECTA education system; c) A copy of local secondary education certificate obtained from Tanzania (if any). NOTE.
