Our range of opportunities is designed for you to experience and participate in Azizi Life’s work in Rwanda first
hand, and then return to your own community the US* to help create new networks of customers and supporters
for Azizi Life’s artisan partners. Read on to learn more!
Internship Possibilities in Rwanda:
1. Multi Media
a. Gather information, photos and video footage.
b. Update and post on social networking sites.
c. Write articles & create videos to help spread the word about Azizi Life artisan partners.
d. Create a press pack.
e. Find and make contact with media outlets.
f. Create training modules and templates for Azizi Life communications.
2. Product Development
a. Identify trends within our target markets.
b. Create designs for potential new products.
c. Work with the artisans to craft the new products.
d. Identify potential supply chain problems and work out solutions. Create timelines for production.
e. Coach our team in trends, idea generation, and developing new products.
f. Identify packaging needs for shipping and selling new products.
g. Identify potential buyers of the new products and contact them.
3. Sales & Marketing
a. Work with the team to refine our sales and marketing strategy.
b. Update Azizi Life’s visual merchandising for retail sales.
c. Develop new marketing materials for sharing about artisans and products.
d. Evaluate the effectiveness of Azizi Life’s sales tools and work to update.
e. Create a plan to boost sales via the website, wholesale, and craft fairs.
f. Coach the Azizi Life team in effective sales and marketing.
g. Contact potential new customers and sell Azizi Life products &/or Experience packages.
h. Look for and cultivate new partnerships with like-minded organizations.

Your Role in the States:


Facilitate sales
o Host or coordinate home parties.
o Visit Boutiques and other potential wholesale customers.
o Host a table at a fair or bazaar.
Spread the word
o Coordinate an event.
o Share at a church.
o Present at a school.
o Present at your college or university.
o Help recruit other interns or volunteers.
What Azizi Life Provides
1. We will provide the accommodation in a shared house (western style toilets, running water & electricity)
with a communal kitchen and wireless internet.**
2. Appropriate visas when necessary.
3. Internship supervisor who will give guidance and meet at least weekly to discuss progress.
4. Provides all work related transport and translators when needed.
5. Provides lunch during the working week (Monday to Friday).
6. Guidance and advice on fundraising.
7. Information and estimates on the cost of living in Rwanda.
Costs: Intern Responsibilities
1. $300- $400 per calendar month to help cover the accommodation and the administration costs of the
internship. (Costs vary depending on the timing of your internship).
2. The cost of the flights to and from Rwanda.
3. The cost of all Vaccinations, Medication and Medical Expenses.
4. Travel Insurance.
5. The cost of food (excluding lunches on work days) & drink.
6. Spending money.
7. Transport costs on days off and tourist activities.
Start Dates and Length of Internships
1. Start dates can be arranged to suit the Intern/volunteer.
2. Internships run for a minimum of:
a. 6 weeks up to a maximum 6 months in Rwanda,
b. PLUS 2 weeks to 2 months in the States.
