(blitz tournaments) or at 14:30 o´clock (rapid tournaments)
Vera Menchik Memorial (185th tournament) will be included in Grand prix series. It has own regulations.
This tournament will be played at High School of international and public relationship, U Santošky 1093/17,
Prague 5.
Venue: EA Hotel Populus, U staré cihelny 2182/11, Prague 3 – Žižkov, Czech Republic

Public transport connection: bus 124, 133 – bus stop Malešická
- departure from subway „A“ – Želivského (Votická str.) at 9:06, 9:36 o´clock (3 bus stops, 3 minutes)
- departure from subway „B“ or „C“ - Florenc at 9:00, 9:15 or at 9:30 o´clock (7 bus stops, 11 minutes)
Start fee: 120 Kč / 5 EUR for in advance registered players; 80 Kč / 3,50 EUR for in advance
registered players with title FM, ladies, junior players (born 1996 and younger), senior players (born
1956 and younger) and for the players from chess club DP Prague. The players which are not
registered in advance should pay additional fee 30 Kč / 1,5 EUR. GM, IM, WGM and WIM – free of
charge. Start fee contains costs for rating of tournament in FIDE Rating List (Blitz or Rapid). Start fee
will be paid in cash during the registration (Kč or EUR).
ELO-Rating: ELO FIDE for Blitz, ELO FIDE for Rapid, ELO ČR for Rapid chess
Pairing: Programme SWISS-MANAGER. The results will be published at chess-results.com. The
tournaments of Grand prix are linked.
System of blitz tournaments: Swiss System, 13 rounds, 3 minutes + 2 sec. for every move
System of rapid tournaments: Swiss System, 7 rounds, 12 minutes + 5 sec. for every move
Ranking: 1. number of points, 2. Buchholz without the worst result, 3. Buchholz, 4. higher ELO
average of opponents
Prizes: 1st place - 1200 Kč, 2. - 1000 Kč, 3. - 800 Kč, 4. - 600 Kč, 5. - 400 Kč, 6. - 200 Kč
Category prizes: best lady - 300 Kč, best senior player – 300 Kč, best student U-15 – 200 Kč
Prize guarantee: minimum 60 players; in case of lower quantity of participants is the organizer
entitled to reduce the prize fund.
Playing equipment: each odd player must bring chess board with pieces and digital clock. Lending
for 100 Kč / 4 EUR possible, but limited quantity only.
Grand prix ranking: place of players in particular tournaments played from 18.9.2016 untill 24.6.2017.
6 best tournaments are taken into account. Places in the tournament are rated with following points:
1st place – 100 points, 2nd place – 95, 3rd place – 90, 4th place – 85, 5th place – 80, 6th place – 75, 7th
place – 70, 8th place – 65, 9th place – 60, 10th place – 55, 11th place – 50, 12th place – 45, 13th place –
40, 14th place – 35, 15th place – 30, 16th place – 29, 17th place – 28 etc. untill 1 point. Every participant
gains at least 1 point.
Grand prix prizes: 1st - 2000 Kč, 2nd - 1500 Kč, 3rd - 1000 Kč, 4th - 900 Kč, 5th - 800 Kč, 6th - 700
Kč, 7th - 600 Kč, 8th - 500 Kč, 9th - 400 Kč, 10th - 300 Kč
Grand prix category prizes: best lady-500 Kč, best senior player–500 Kč, best student U-15–300 Kč
Financial prizes in Grand prix will be given to the winners exclusively after final ceremony of the last
tournament in June 24th, 2017, otherwise it remains to organizer.
