PRIDDIS GREENS JUNIOR LESSON PROGRAM
The Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club junior lessons are for first time golfers to experienced golfers.
Lessons are made up of four age/skill appropriate golf development levels that the golf instructors will
teach and guide juniors through. In each level, juniors will learn important techniques, as well as
sportsmanship, etiquette, and then graduating into on course playing lessons. Last, but not least, juniors
will meet a lot of new friends while continuing to grow the great game of golf.
Juniors and parents will notice that some exercises, most notably in the Tiny Tigers Program, do not look
relevant to golf. It is during your child’s first few years of golf that the emphasis will be placed on
physical literacy. Learning agility, balance, coordination and speed are vital in the control of beginner
junior golfers. Games and other sports such as throwing a ball will develop basic hitting actions, and
catching will develop proper hand-eye coordination.
Once the season is over parents and juniors can discuss with the instructor the progress made and plans
for next year. Options could be continuing to develop skills at their current level or progressing to the
next level. Private lessons are also a popular avenue for juniors looking to get more serious while
learning at a 1-on-1 level.

This is a season long points race for the Priddis Junior Cup where it is participation based. Golfers receive
points based off certain criteria and report their total points on a bi-weekly basis to Assistant
Professional, Sam Kirkness, who will tally the points for the year. The winner at the end of the year is
crowned champion and receives a prize. In addition there will be prizes monthly to the top performer
overall based off accumulated points.
This program is designed to get junior golfers to actively participate in golf in a variety of different
formats while developing honesty and integrity for the game. This program allows junior golfers to begin
documenting their golf participation to help them develop as players. The points are as follows:
Each 30 minutes of practice= 1 point (one hour of practice would be 2 points)
Each 18 holes played at Priddis= 8 points (9 holes would be 4 points)
Each 9 holes played outside Priddis= 6 points (9 holes would be 3 points)
Participation in Junior Tournament at Priddis= 10 points
Participation in Junior Tournament outside Priddis= 10 points
Top 5 finish in a Junior Tournament= 15 total points (can’t be combined)
Playing with the Pro at Priddis= 8 points (9 holes would be 4 points)

Junior golfers are responsible to take a sheet on a bi-weekly basis and record their participation. This is
an honour system which helps to develop skills on and off the golf course. At the end of the two week
