Wolverhampton Information Network (WIN): A guide for new users
WIN is a FREE online search directory that is available 24 hours a day – 7 days a week. It
features a host of local services, support groups, advice agencies and activities that take
place in the City. WIN is an all services Hub, a localised ‘one stop shop’ for information.
This guide has been designed for first time users of the WIN website. It shows the main
features of the website and explains how you can use them to your advantage.
The WIN website can be accessed by typing: http://win.wolverhampton.gov.uk into your
internet browser or found by typing the words Wolverhampton Information Network into a
search bar; this will take you to the WIN homepage below:-

WIN is FREE to use and does not require you to register. Registration is only needed if you
wish to use the website more fully e.g. create a new account or record for your services.
How to register with the WIN website as a ‘New User’





Find the WIN website by typing in http://win.wolverhampton.gov.uk or
Wolverhampton Information Network into your internet browser – you will be
redirected to the WIN homepage.
On the WIN homepage, click the “My WIN Account” tab on the right hand side of the
homepage;
If you have not previously registered you will need to click on the New User? Create
an Account Tab. You will be taken to a page asking you to register an account. You
will have to provide an email address and create a password.
Do take the time to read the terms and conditions for the website and click on the box
to say you accept them
Once you have completed the details, click on the “Register your Account” Tab – this
will complete the process.
What happens next?


As soon as you have registered, you will be sent a verification email to the address
you have provided; this will ask you to validate your account.
As soon as the validation email has been received, you are able to use the “Sign In”
option on the My Win Account tab next time you use the WIN website and use the full
features.
How to create a new service record on WIN
It is very easy to create a new service listing on the website once you have registered.








From the WIN homepage – http://win.wolverhampton.gov.uk click on the “My Win
Account” tab; You will have to sign in by inputting your email and password
Once signed in, you will be redirected back to the WIN homepage.
Click on the My Win Account tab again and it will give you three options:
Dashboard; Update Account; Sign Out.
From the Dashboard option – select Provider Updates and then the “Create a new
Service” option. This will take you to a screen where you will be able to create a new
draft record for your service/activity.
Simply follow the on-screen instructions and provide the required information; you
are also able to attach pictures and upload documents.
Once you have provided information click the “Save Service” option at the bottom
This completes the draft stage; the record will be sent to the WIN site administrator to
check the details and moderate any content. You will be contacted if more
information is required. Once the administrator is satisfied; the record you have
created will be uploaded onto the live website. You will be notified when this is done.
