Performances begin at 1:00 pm, and will run back-to-back; using only such time as is actually
needed to set and to strike, but no more than is permitted by the rules (40 minutes for the play,
seven minutes for strike and seven minutes for set-up).

of the contest. Please send your fees to Dr. E. Don Williams with checks made payable to

Admission to the plays is $5.00. The ticket is good for all six shows. Your cast will receive
nametags, which will give them free admission to the performances.
4. ONE-ACT PLAY HANDBOOK: Please review the information found in the handbook for
One-Act Play Directors, Judges, and Contest Managers. Be sure to bring:

5. STAGING: Lighting - Lights will be pre-set to cover nine basic areas and will be controllable
by area. Elaborate and special color effects will not be available. There will be one blue wash,
one red wash, and one green wash which will cover the entire stage and may be used for
specials. Instruments cannot be pre-set or re-gelled between plays. Electricians will be available
to assist your light crewmembers. Standard manual 42 channel board. Two follow spots.
(see area numbers on detail)
Lighting assistant will be present in booth during setup and run. Please provide your own board
operator and follow spot operators.
Properties and Unit Set - The unit set will be available at the contest site. You should provide
your own stage properties except for single window unit and door unit. You may, if you wish,
provide your own window or door unit.
Make-up, Costumes - These items will NOT be furnished at the contest site. Please bring them
with you.
Sound Equipment - You may bring your own sound system, or you may use the house system. A
technician must monitor the use of the house system. The board is located in the booth, so plan
to run all cues from there (not backstage). If possible, your light board operator may be able to
run sound. However, if due to overlapping cues this is not feasible, please provide sound
operator. The house system consists of a 40-channel board (configured for either mono or
stereo), a CD player, and a standard cassette deck. You must provide any other equipment you
need (additional tape/CD decks, Reel to Reel, DAT, etc.) - either XLR (3pin) or 1/4 inch jacks
must be used for input into board.

measurements of playing space, placement of curtains, etc., is attached. If you have further
questions, please contact the Contest Manager.
