Wednesday 26th March – Industrial Action
Two members of staff are taking Industrial Action next Wednesday in the latest strike
action called by the NUT. We are endeavouring to keep school open for the day though
the structure for classes 1 and 2 may be a little different to usual. Mrs Bedford with the
teaching assistants will be overseeing the day for both classes. Class photographs will
continue to be taken that morning and the after school sports club will continue as
usual. There will be an impact however on the Parent Consultation meetings planned for
that evening. They will continue as planned for classes 3 and 4 but those who have
signed up to see Miss Horn or Mrs Lacey on Wednesday will need to rearrange their
appointment. Mrs Lacey and Miss Horn will be available instead on Friday 28 th March.
The new sheet for appointments will be up from today.
Chicken Pox
Please note that we have cases of Chicken Pox in school at the present time
Tuesday 1st April – Class 1 children to visit Bishop Thornton for Easter Crafts
(*Please note this was wrongly advertised last week)
Children in Class 1 will visit the children in Class 1 at Bishop Thornton on Tuesday 1 st
April for the morning. They will be transported by the Belmont Grosvenor minibus.
Please complete the permission slip below to register your consent for this visit.

Teacher Vacancy
The advertisement for the teaching position available at Birstwith in September has
been published today. We have invited prospective candidates to visit school during the
next 2 weeks and the closing date for applications is Tuesday 22 nd April.
