Do you want to become a member of the Victorian Disability Advisory Council? The Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing, the Hon. Martin Foley is asking people to apply to be members of the Victorian Disability Advisory Council (the Council). The Council gives advice to the Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing, the Hon. Martin Foley on ways to include people with a disability in the community. To be a member of the Victorian Disability Advisory Council you should: be a person with a disability or a carer of a person with a disability live in Victoria be able to consult with people with a disability Consult means to talk and listen to people. 1 People with a disability from different groups can apply. young people women people who live in rural and regional areas people from different cultures people from Aboriginal communities people with different disabilities including: o people with an acquired brain injury o people with an intellectual disability o people with a mental illness 2 The Victorian Disability Advisory Council meets at least six times a year.
