St Aidan’s Catholic Primary Academy 12th March 2015 Newsletter Number 24 ‘The word of the word the he week is ‘Love ’ Dear Parents/Carers This week the word of the week is ‘Love’. In assembly we talked about love of our families, friends and our family at St Aidan’s. It is important that we show children the ideal of God’s love for us and that we should follow the commandment of, ‘Love one another as I love you’. God, help us to be like Jesus Christ, your Son, who loves us so much he came to save us from all that could harm us. Help us to follow his example. Amen. As we journey through Lent let us also think about how we can show love to others particularly those who are less fortunate than ourselves. Love is… Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Corinthians 13:4-8 As discussed at our ‘Meet the Teacher’ meeting we want to encourage parents and children to discuss issues to improve communication. The talking point for this weekend is ‘Who should you trust?’ DAY 1. The children of St Teresa’s House Forum are holding a Random Day on Friday 20th March in aid of Anchor House. Anchor House is an award winning residential and life skills centre for homeless people. They support homeless and vulnerable adults to turn their lives around by addressing the root causes of their problems through training, education and personal rehabilitation. Anchor House was founded by the Catholic community in 1962. Please let us show our love for those of us who are less fortunate and give generously on the day. During the day the children will move to different classes and take part in random events. Please send in a minimum amount of £1. £1005.00 World Book Day Congratulation on your excellent response to World Book Day.
