TENDER: 03/2015:
REFURBISHMENT OF THE LOUTERWATER WASTE WATER TREATMENT WORKS
Koukamma Municipality invites tenders for the refurbishment of the existing Waste Water Treatment Works
(WWTW) in Louterwater. The scope of works under this tender includes:
a) The cleaning out of the inlet works at the Louterwater WWTW,
b) The establishment of a sludge processing area including sludge cells to contain and dewater
sludge,
c) The removal by excavation and pumping of sludge from the anaerobic/aerobic ponds at the
WWTW,
d) The construction of concrete drying beds
e) Fencing around the Louterwater WWTW, and
f) Miscellaneous works.
It is estimated that Tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 4 CE or higher.
This tender will be evaluated according to points awarded for price and the BBBEE scorecard. The 90/10
Preference Point System will be applied to this tender.
Documents may be collected during working hours after 08:00 on Monday, 4 May 2015 at No 5 Keet
Street, Kareedouw, 6400. A non-refundable tender deposit of R300, Three hundred rands payable (by
bank guaranteed cheque or cash) to the Koukamma Municipality is required on collection of the tender
documents. Tenders may only be collected between 08:00 and 15:30 during weekdays.
A compulsory clarification meeting with representatives of the Employer and the Engineer will take place at
the Louterwater WWTW in Louterwater on 11 May 2015 starting at 10h00 am.

The closing time for receipt of tenders is 22 May 2015 at 12h00. Tenders must be enclosed in sealed
envelopes, bearing the applicable tender heading and reference number, as well as the closing time and
due date.
Tenders must be submitted in the MUNICIPAL TENDER BOX situated at the entrance of the Koukamma
Municipality Offices, 5 Keet Street, Kareedouw. Tenders will be opened in public strictly at 12:00 at the
address stated above.
The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted, and the Municipality reserves the right to accept
a tender as a whole or in part. Telegraphic, telephonic, telex, facsimile, e-mail, posted and late tenders will
not be accepted. Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is issued. More
