Teaching methods adopted to improve student learning: Along with our traditional method of teaching, the department also takes utmost care to meet the students’ queries relating to syllabus and to solve university question papers of the previous years as well as model papers. One-to–one contact method with students for problem solving and answer correction is also undertaken. Participation in Institutional Social Responsibility (ISR) and Extension activities: The students of different years have successfully participated in various competitions arranged by other colleges and university. Their achievements are given in details corresponding to criterion 23. The teachers of the department participate in different stages (eg. setting question papers, moderation of questions and checking and scrutinizing the answer-scripts and evaluating term papers) of undergraduate examinations of University of Calcutta.
