A number of boys in the school are allergic to nuts and for them any contact
with nuts or products containing traces of nuts can be dangerous for example NUTELLA!!!!
Please be aware of this when organising your child’s lunch and if possible
do not allow your child to bring anything containing nuts to school. Your
help in this matter is very much appreciated.
p.s. Please give your children water to drink coming to school - not
sweet or fizzy drinks.
Parents: now that children are back
in school, please be vigilant and
check your child’s hair regularly
for headlice. If you find any please notify the school and we will send a
note to all parents in that class.

Scoil na mBuachaillí is in the second year of working towards a
green school flag for energy. The Green Schools Committee is
made up of boys from 2nd to 6th Classes, Finbarr our caretaker,
Miss Crowley, Ms. Fitzmaurice and Ms. Sinéad O’Regan, the coordinator.
The committee carried out an energy audit in the school and all classes are turning off lights during break times and turning off computers and other electric appliances after school. Energy wardens check each room every day to ensure appliances and lights are turned
off.
All classes have learned about energy in our homes, in the community and in Ireland. Fifth and sixth classes have learned about different forms of energy and done projects on the energy theme.
