Please note that GO International/Tamwood International College does not “guarantee” any employment position or the amount of hours to be provided. GO International/Tamwood International College is a conduit between the employer and the employee. Employment conditions can change before or after arrival. Cancellation and Refund Policy 1. To be considered for a refund, you must submit a written and signed notice to GO International/Tamwood International College of withdraw from the program 30 days prior to the start of the work term. Verbal notices will not be considered. Refunds for BasicPlacement Program Option 2. If written notice of withdrawal is received more than thirty (30) calendar days before the Participant’s arrival in Canada, GO International will retain $100 of the Program Fees under the contract as a cancellation fee, and refund the balance of the fees to the Participant. 3. If written notice of withdrawal is received less than thirty (30) calendar days before the Participant’s arrival in Canada, GO International will retain all of the Program Fees under the contract. Refunds before the Work Placement Starts 4. If written notice of withdrawal is received before the start of the applicant has had a job interview, Tamwood will retain $200 of the Work Placement Fees under the contract as a cancellation fee, and refund the balance of the fees to the applicant. 5. If the applicant withdraws from the program after a job interview has been arranged, Tamwood will retain the full Work Placement Fee as a cancellation fee. 6. Notwithstanding paragraph 2, if, after the interview with the company, the applicant is not offered a position by the employer, Tamwood attempt to secure up to a maximum of two more interviews. If the applicant is not successful in getting a job offer as a result of these interviews, Tamwood is under no obligation to arrange any more interviews for the applicant and the application can either pay Tamwood to arrange more interviews at a cost of C$300 per interview, or withdraw from the program, in which case, Tamwood will retain $75 of the Work Placement Fee as a cancellation fee, and refund the balance of the Work Placement Fee to the applicant, and the applicant is not entitled to any other refund from Tamwood or its booking agents, or to claim any loss or damage against Tamwood or its booking agents arising from Tamwood failure to provide a work placement for the intern. 7. If the student fails to achieve the level of English skills required for Tamwood to start the work placement arranged for the student, Tamwood reserves the right to cancel the student’s acceptance in the program and will refund the student the full work placement Fee in the form of a credit note that can be applied by the student against the purchase price of English classes within 12 months of the date of the credit note. 8. If the applicant refuses to participate in the work placement arranged for him/her by Tamwood, Tamwood is under no obligation to arrange another work placement for the applicant and the applicant can withdraw from the program or pay Tamwood to arrange another placement at a cost of $300 per additional interview arranged. If the applicant withdraws from the program, the applicant forfeits his/her Work Placement Fee. The applicant is not entitled to any other refund or to claim any losses against Tamwood or its agents, as result of his/her failure to secure a work placement 9. In the unlikely event that Tamwood is unable to arrange a work placement interview for the applicant, Tamwood will refund the full Work Placement Fee to the applicant and the intern is not entitled to any other refund from Tamwood or its booking agents, or to claim any loss or damage against Tamwood or its booking agents arising from Tamwood failure to provide a work placement for the intern. 10. Once the applicant has been assigned a position for his/her work placement, if the applicant requests a change to the dates of the work placement, Tamwood will put the request to the host company who can either accept or reject the applicant’s request. If the host company accepts the request, the change in program dates (and accommodation dates if necessary) will be made subject to the applicant paying Tamwood a Program Change Fee of C$75. D:\81924672.doc 6 Refunds after the Work Placement Starts 11. Once the applicant has started his/her work placement, if the applicant withdraws from the program or is dismissed from his/her employment by the employer, the Program Fees are non-refundable. Refunds of Other Fees 12. When homestay is selected, participants must provide written notification of cancellation of homestay accommodation a minimum of 4 weeks prior to cancellation date in order to qualify for refund of unused accommodation fees. Homestay is not available in Vancouver during July to August and in Whistler during November to April. Payment of Refunds Owing to Participants 13. Refunds owing to a Participant eligible for a refund shall be paid to the Participant within thirty (30) days of GO International receiving written notification of withdrawal, or within thirty (30) days of written notice of dismissal. All bank fees associated with payment of a refund are the responsibility of the Participant. All refunds are in Canadian dollars.
