2017 1A Boys Basketball Tournament in Nuiqsut
Contests
There will be a free throw and a 3pt competition. All participating players will be
allowed to enter the free throw & 3pt competition; last person standing will be
the champion.
Awards
There will be awards given out to the champion, 6 all tournament awards, free
throw competition, 3pt shot competition, & sportsmanship. A panel of individuals
that will be present at every game will select the all-tournament team &
sportsmanship award. They will evaluate individual performances based on
tournament play.
Determining a Champion
If one team goes 4-0, they are the champions. However, in an event of teams
having identical records the following tiebreaker will be used:
1) Head to Head competition
2) Total Combined margin of victory between the teams with identical
records. **Capped at 20 points per game.
3) Total Points Allowed
4) Coin Flip
Game Schedule, Uniforms, & Bench
Teams on the left side of the schedule are the visiting team and will wear their
dark uniforms and teams on the right side of schedule are the home team and will
wear their light uniforms. Teams wearing the light uniforms will be the home
team on the scoreboard and sit to the left of the scorer’s table. One exception,
Nuiqsut teams will always be home on the scoreboard and sit on the left side
during the tournament.
