INTERNATIONAL STAFF TRAINING WEEK MAY 08 – 12, 2017 PHILIPPS-UNIVERSITY MARBURG, GERMANY Tajik State University was founded on March 21, 1947 according to the Regulation of the Councils of Ministers of USSR, No. 643 and began its activity from September 1, 1948 in Dushanbe. In connection with the social political changes of the social life in the country the university was renamed to Tajik State University named after V.I. Lenin (1957), to Tajik State University (1992), to Tajik State National University (1997) and to Tajik National University (2008). In the early years of functioning at the university there were 4 faculties: • Faculty of geology and soil study; •Faculty of biology: •Faculty of historical and philological studies; •Faculty of physics and mathematics. From ERASMUS MUNDUS to ERASMUS+ TNU participated and is participating in the implementation of the following mobility projects: a) Erasmus Mundus: MANECA - "Mobility Academic Network between EU and Central Asia“ MARCO XXI b) Erasmus+ ICM Inter-institutional agreements: Philipps-Universität Marburg, Germany Varna University of Management, Bulgaria Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, Romania с) Recognition of the course: On the basis of the Learning Agreements signed by parties. Center of Learning Foreign Languages of TNU Center of learning foreign languages of the Tajik National University started to function on the basis of Law of the Republic of Tajikistan on “State language (2009)”. Specific objectives: • Provision of place and means of learning to the language learners; • Attraction of the highly qualified and experienced teachers of English, Russian, Arabian, Persian and Tajik; • To give opportunities to foreign students and teachers to learn languages and continue their education and work in Tajikistan • Elaboration of the short-term and long-term programs of learning foreign languages; • Preparation and publication of the new textbooks; • Preparation of the dictionaries in 2 or 3 languages; • To issue certificates of course completion to language learners; • Translation of the textbooks, scientific literatures, texts of the project documents and other legal-normative documents. Confucius cultural-educational center at TNU Confucius cultural-educational center at TNU was established in 27.08.2008 and it was officially inaugurated in 17.06.2009 as a cultural-educational center. Mission: • To teach Chinese language courses to interested students and staff; • To raise the cultural understanding of the students and teachers about China; • To offer study opportunities to Tajik students and teachers via Chinese Government Scholarships. In the structure of TNU there are 19 faculties, which prepare bachelors, masters and PhDs according to 101 specialties. Faculties:
