Kindergarten Sight Words Sight words are words that appear frequently in the books that children read. Learning them helps children become readers. Your child should be able to read these words by the end of kindergarten. At home, use flash cards or play the memory game to help your child learn them. Directions on how to play the memory game are on my website. This is the order in which I will usually teach them. The children learn a new word each week. Color words are practiced the first 2 weeks, but reviewed year round. color words* for the it I here see has my have like we a this are and he she can they me at look that with on of you play all do to said was the (again) is go *Color words : yellow, orange, red, brown, purple, black, green, white, blue, pink *They should also become familiar with reading the number words: zero, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten
