 CALL TO WORSHIP
Leader: God’s love, strong and true,
People: Beckons us to walk on with hope in each step,
Lures us home, to the place just right.
Leader: God’s love, everlasting and bold,
People: Sustains us when fear closes in and worry overwhelms,
Surprises us with glimpses of wonder and bursts of joy.
Leader: God’s love, gentle yet persistent,
People: Graces us with rest in the midst of busyness,
Hounds us to follow the good path.
Leader: God’s love, abundant and uplifting,
People: Dances around us like waves on the shore,
Dwells in us as a song steeped in praise.
Leader: God’s love, forever leading us to sing and pray, serve and praise.

 HYMN OF PRAISE
#568
“Christ for the World We Sing”
 OPENING PRAYER (in unison)
Gracious God, who enables us with your Spirit to live the Christian life; lead us in a life
of Christian fellowship, love and service, that we may take advantage of the opportunities
you give us to enjoy life at its fullest. Often our human nature makes it difficult for us to
follow your Spirit. Forgive us when we follow the world’s example instead of being an
example to the world. Let our thoughts, speech, and behavior contribute to the spiritual
nurture of your people. We pray in the name of Christ our Lord. Amen.
 PASSING OF THE PEACE
EPISTLE LESSON
Ephesians 5:8-14
For once you were darkness, but now in the Lord you are light. Live as children of light
for the fruit of the light are found in all that is good and right and true. Try to find out
what is pleasing to the Lord. Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead
expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what such people do secretly; but
everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that becomes visible is
light. Therefore it says, "Sleeper, awake! Rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on
you."

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE & THE L ORD ’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will
be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us
our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into
temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom and the power and
the glory forever. Amen.

LASST UNS ERFREUEN
Matthew 5:13-16
You are the salt of the earth; but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored?
It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot. You are the
light of the world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it
under the bushel basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the
same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and
give glory to your Father in heaven.
