WHAT ARE PTG EVENTS & WHY SPONSOR?
The Project Teams Gathering (PTG) is a new semiannual event organized by the OpenStack Foundation that
takes place in Q1 and Q3, between the OpenStack Summits in Q2 and Q4.
The new PTG events are a product of splitting up the event known as the Design Summit into:
(1) the Forum at our biannual Summit (where strategic planning, feedback listening, requirements gathering
and cross-community discussions happen)
(2) the PTG events (where the development work is organized
The PTG events are like a co-located midcycle for all interested projects, replacing the need for individual
OpenStack projects to organize their own standalone midcycle events between Summits. The PTG format
also helps maximize productivity and collaboration for contributors by providing a focused environment.
With a dedicated space and opportunity for in-person team time, attendance at the PTG alleviates pressure
on developers and community members, making developers more productive for the rest of the 6-month
cycle––a benefit to all members of the OpenStack community. By co-locating all of the individual projects, the
PTG also fosters important cross project collaboration.
The PTG events are critical to the OpenStack release cycle and community. PTG sponsorship is a public
demonstration of your commitment to the continued growth and success of OpenStack.
PROCESS FOR RESERVING SPONSORSHIPS
IMPORTANT DATES:
• June 1, 2017 - Executable sponsorship contract made available.
• August 15, 2017 - Last day to sign Queens PTG (September 2017) sponsorship contract and receive full
benefits.
A link to the September 2017 OpenStack Project Teams Gathering Sponsorship Contract in Echosign
will be posted to the website: openstack.org/ptg on June 1, 2017.
All sponsorships will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis determined by the timestamp on
completed agreements.
If your company has any past due balances owed to the OpenStack Foundation, these invoices will need to
be paid in full in order to be eligible to sponsor the PTG. Please contact [email protected] if you think
you may have any overdue or outstanding invoices.

PRE-EVENT PROMOTION
• Sponsor logo included on PTG website
• Sponsor designation included on pre-event emails to registered PTG attendees
ON-SITE PROMOTION
• Logo included on all onsite sponsor signage in the PTG venue including at registration and in the lounge.
• Opportunity to provide one giveaway item (minimum of 300) that event staff will distribute to PTG attendees.
(Does not include cost of producing or shipping item; item must be approved in advance by OpenStack
Foundation by a specified date).
• Opportunity to create one “housekeeping” advertisement slide to be displayed on rotation on a monitor in the
PTG lounge.
EVENT PASSES
• 5 passes to the September 2017 PTG Denver (valued at $500)
• 6 Full Access passes to the November 2017 OpenStack Summit in Sydney (valued at over $4,000)
PTG RECOGNITION DURING THE NOVEMBER 2017 OPENSTACK SUMMIT SYDNEY
• Logo designation on “Thank You” signage recognizing PTG sponsors. Signage located inside the Developers
and Operators Lounge onsite at the Sydney Summit.
• Logo designation on “Thank You” slide recognizing PTG sponsors. Slide displayed during morning Keynotes at
the Sydney Summit
ADD ON OPPORTUNITY

We are putting together a Community Happy Hour reception for one night during the PTG week to celebrate and
have some cross-project gathering time for all of the attendees. There will be snacks, drinks, and some great
networking time for this crucial part of the community.
