C AMPING LED Camp Light Kit F OLLOWING on from the popularity and great success of its Boat Light, Korr Lighting has developed a set of lights ideal for all outdoor enthusiasts. Based on a similar concept to the Boat Lights, the Camp Light Kits as they are called consist of either three or four solid bar LED lights. These new LED lights are ideal for camping and caravanning, for your four-wheel-drive and also your boat. In fact they are great for any sort of outdoor activity where decent lighting is required. The bars of the LED lights are waterproof and solidly constructed and provide more than enough light to see what you’re doing at night. Included in the various kits are plenty of different accessories so you can simply customise the lights to your specific requirements. The kit comes in a sealable and reusable tube container which protects the lights when you are travelling as well as keeping all the necessary bits and pieces in once place so they are easy to Product Review by BEN COLLINS find the next time you want to use them. And the best part is the installation of these lights is a breeze. All you need to do is hook up to a 12V battery via clamps or a cigarette lighter and you are away. (Both types of adaptors are included in the kit). There are a number of different extension cords of varying lengths and double adaptors enabling you to set up the lights where you need them. To set up, simply run the lead from your battery or cigarette lighter to where you require some light and pug in an LED light. These are made so you can either attach one light to the next or run an extension lead or adaptor and then pug in another light. Installation really is that easy. An added bonus is the inclusion of an on/off switch which is also a dimmer. This plugs in and allows you to customise your lighting arrange- ments even more. The advantage of having a universal switch like this is you can have all your lights set up but only use the ones needed at a specific time. By this I mean you could have a light set up for cooking, one for eating and another where you sleep. And with the use of the on/off switch, you can turn the lights off or dim them as required. Included in the 3 Bar Kit are three 50cm fully waterproof light bars, a 5m cable for connecting to your battery or cigarette lighter, three 1m extension cables, one 2.5m extension cable and two adaptors for customising your setup. Also with the kit are six velcro straps, zip ties, magnets and zip ties for securing your lights in place. The velcro strips and cable ties are great options as they are easy to use and adjust, and allow you to put the lights almost anywhere. And you’ll find the magnets come in handy when looking to attach the lights to the side of your camper, steel tool box or car. I have only used the Camp Light Kit a couple of times so far but look forward to using it on future camping trips. With a minimal draw on your battery of 0.5amps per light, you will get ample hours of light before having to recharge your battery. Plus the lifespan of the lights is an amazing 50,000 hours. This kit retails for $199 with everything I’ve mentioned included. However there is a special offer in January where you will get an additional waterproof 50cm LED light strip for free, making this an even better offer and giving you four lights in total.
