2014 Rookie Team Registration
Weatherstone Dolphins Swim Team is a Cobb County Summer Swim League team open to children ages 5-18 (as
of May 31, 2014). However, any swimmer between the ages of 3 and 5 (as of May 31, 2014) who is willing to get
in the water, with assistance, but is not yet able to independently swim the length of the pool, and/or (if age 5) is
not yet ready or interested in the regular swim team, may join our Rookie League.
There is no team swim suit for the Rookie League. No special equipment is needed. Back floats are permitted.
Goggles are optional. This is an instructional, developmental, swim-lesson experience and is fun! The Rookie
League has its own coaches who are experienced teenaged swimmers and lifeguards.
Rookie League will practice in the shallow end of the pool from Monday through Friday mornings
beginning June 2- June 21st from 8:30am-9:00am. Parents are required to stay at the pool during Rookie
practices. Siblings not registered as Rookies cannot swim, even in the baby pool, during this time as no lifeguard
is on duty and the pool is closed except for registered swimmers.
Rookie “Meets” (swimming the width of the pool in the shallow end with the help of coaches, swim packs, noodles,
as needed) will occur each FRIDAY morning in June during regular practice time. Ribbons will be awarded to all
swimmers after each race. Rookies do not participate in the regular swim team meets.
Rookie League swimmers are invited and encouraged to come and cheer on the Weatherstone Dolphins at all of
our meets. This is a great way to introduce your child to what fun a “real” summer swim meet is like! The

The Rookies will be honored at our End of the Year Banquet on Wednesday June 25 at 6pm at the WSRC
pool. More details on the banquet will be given as the date approaches.

Cost: $75 per child
* There is a $10 fee for each non-WSRC member per family. (WSRC dues are due by May 1, 2014

Rookie League: Parent/Guardian Permission and Waiver of Liability
I hereby certify that I have knowledge of the physical condition of my child/children (print all names)

and there is/are no physical or emotional condition that would limit my child/children from participating in this
program. I give my consent and permission for my child/children to participate in the Weatherstone Rookie League
for the 2014 season.
I further state that I shall not hold the Weatherstone Swim and Racquet Club, Inc. (WSRC), Weatherstone Swim
Team, Weatherstone Rookie League, coaches, or coordinators, or any associated person responsible or liable for
any accidents or injuries to my child while participating in or being transferred to or from Rookie League activities.
I understand a parent or guardian must stay at the pool during the Rookie League practices.
I also understand that by joining the Weatherstone Rookie League, only my child/children who are registered
Weatherstone Rookie League swimmer/s is/are permitted to use the Weatherstone Swim and Racquet Club, Inc.
pool ONLY during the set practice times. The Weatherstone Swim and Racquet Club, Inc. (including the pool and
surrounding grounds) is a private, members-only facility, and closed to the general public.
I also understand the Weatherstone Swim Team is a member of the Cobb County Summer Swim League and I will
abide by the rules of this organization.
I also understand that the coach(es) shall have the authority to discipline my child within reason and to suspend
him/her from Team activities if it should become necessary. Our Rookie Team coaches are not qualified to work
with children who have significant behavioral, emotional, or developmental disorders at this time. The Rookie
League coaches and Weatherstone Swim Team coordinator has the right to ask a child to leave practice(s) if they
are a significant disruption to others on an on-going basis as this may pose a safety risk to other children.
I understand that e-mails, the Weatherstone Dolphins Swim Team Facebook page, the Weatherstone Dolphins
website, and text messages, will be used by the coordinators and coaches for communication with team families.
As a condition of placing my child(ren) on the Weatherstone Rookie League, I agree to this policy and will abide by
