Hagersville, ON – The Association of Iroquois and Allied Indians (AIAI) Grand Chief Gord Peters, and Deputy Grand Chief Denise Stonefish will join the AIAI Chiefs’ Council to hold a press conference during the last day of the AIAI Annual General Assembly in the territory of the Mississaugas of the New Credit First Nation. AIAI will be discussing the importance of empowering First Nations peoples through community based governance initiatives and how these initiatives encourage transparency and accountability to First Nation citizens. Grand Chief Peters will also take this opportunity to discuss the lack of transparency and accountability from the Harper government and it’s paternalistic attitude of “Do as I say, not as I do” towards First Nations.
