Position Description – Salesforce CRM volunteer The Inner North Community Foundation seeks a passionate person with a strong commitment to Melbourne’s Inner North to fill a volunteer role. Background The Inner North Community Foundation is an independent community foundation based in Melbourne’s Inner North, and is one of over 35 community foundations across Australia. The Foundation was established in 2007 as an initiative of IntoWork Australia, and is supported by the three local Councils, Moreland, Yarra and Darebin. The Foundation manages philanthropic dollars to provide funds for projects that create prosperous, connected, and cohesive communities in Melbourne’s Inner North, particularly encouraging pathways to employment. To fulfill this vision it: invests in local not for profit organisations through grants and other support connects donors to local community groups by managing a donor network for people to contribute small and large donations builds partnerships to expand community leadership across the region Context The initial key purpose of the Inner North Community Foundation is to support employment outcomes for residents in the inner north of Melbourne. Since inception, the Inner North Community Foundation has distributed grants of over $2.4 million to over 120 local community organisations. The Foundation is structured to be responsive to local needs over the long-term. It is anticipated that as the Foundation’s donor base and resource capacity increases, its strategic focus will expand to include other issues prevalent across the inner northern region. The inner northern region of Melbourne has a population of more than 390,000 people across the cities of Darebin, Moreland and Yarra and is characterised by: higher than average income inequality and pockets of high disadvantage high levels of diversity housing affordability stress - high proportion of rental (public and private) and high prevalence of lone person households and group households across the region significant changes to the economy, particularly a shift away from manufacturing/manual work CRM development Maintaining an accurate and up to date CRM is a crucial role for the Foundation. Our current database requires modernizing, with records to transfer from and Access database to Salesforce. This volunteer role will: Assist in development of Inner North Community Foundation’s database (Salesforce) to ensure the design and functionality meets the requirements of the organisation and its users Assist the Inner North Community Foundation in the development and implementation of new technologies or Salesforce enhancements to support business goals Perform overall management of the user training program and provide technical support A specific work plan will be developed, and may include: Inner North Community Foundation Proudly supported IntoWork Australia 1 Supporting the transition from Access to Salesforce including basic configuration, creation of custom objects and fields, modifying record types, page layouts and related lists Building report templates and dashboards according to user requirements Working collaboratively to understand data collection and system requirements to support grantmaking and donor service s Working collaboratively to ensure appropriate Inner North Community Foundation consistent branding is applied to communications generated through Salesforce Ensuring considerations of accounting and auditing practices in development and implementation of system enhancements Volunteer profile The Foundation is seeking to recruit a suitable passionate and experienced volunteer. The role would suit someone who can demonstrate: • Experience with Salesforce Admin, including setup and configuration • Knowledge of generic sales and marketing processes • Ability to identify gaps in business processes and recommend improvements • Capacity to work as part of team, and take initiative as needed • Project management skills • General understanding of the community sector and the capacity to learn about community based philanthropy • A connection to Melbourne’s inner north desirable It is envisaged this role can be undertaken on a project basis.
