YCF Wahoos Swim Team
Age Group 1 Consists of our youngest (8 & under) and newest swimmers. This group is for entry level swimmers that are
learning all four strokes. Technique, drills and stroke development are the basic fundamentals. An introduction to novice level
swim meets is provided for through the YMCA association. Swimmers are encouraged to attend at least 3 practices per week.
Age Group 2 Consists of swimmers primarily in the age range of 9 – 11 and who are still developing legal stroke technique
(or at the coaches’ discretion). The program will offer introductory aerobic base training, freestyle-based conditioning, stroke
and drill development. Swimmers are expected to attend at least 3 practices per week.
Age Group 3 Consists of swimmers primarily in the age range of 11 – 13, have developed legal
stroke technique and have achieved at least a “B” time standard (or at the coaches’
discretion). Also, the swimmer and parents are willing to make the commitment to swimming as
their sport of choice. In addition, a gradual increase in the overall production and volume of
yards and interval training compatible with upper level training and development is introduced.
Registration with United States Swimming is also a requirement. Swimmers are expected to
attend at least 4 practices per week.

In order to be part of the Swim Team you must be a member of the Frank DeLuca YMCA.
Program Fee
$50 per month and $10 discount for each additional child through monthly bank draft.
A Program Bank Draft Form must be completed in addition to the Swim Team Registration Form
