From Your Editor
Hello and welcome to this special "cut out and keep" supplement edition of The
Barton Players Newsletter. I think a supplement is in order and a little self
appreciation not uncalled for, given the reception all Barton Players entries
received in the Bedfordshire One Act Drama Festival at Haynes. Fate’s Thread
was judged overall winner and deservedly goes through to the semi-finals at
Maidenhead on May 7th/8th. Congratulations to them and all the Barton Players
casts and directors that took part.

Driven Mad by Joan Jenkin was directed by Ann Holloway assisted by Jason
Wolfe. The Cast, Tracey McNevin, Alan Baldwin & Clare Brown performed this
new play very well giving a superb performance and receiving good adjudication.
A Quiet Life by Stephen Bean was directed by Tony Conisbee and assisted by
Jill Conisbee. The cast, Samantha Webster, Andrew Gookey, Gill George and
Debbie Radcliffe performed well and received an adjudication of which the cast
members should be proud.
Special thanks is also due to the crew, Keith Bowie and Chris Radcliffe for the
sound and lighting throughout all the performances, to Ann Osborne for props
and to Julia Wright for make up.
All three plays were well appreciated and enjoyed by audience and the
Adjudicator and we won some awards!
Other members of Barton Players also
won awards appearing in Upstage
productions. Congratulations to
Rachael Bowie Director of Stop the
Clocks for Audience Appreciation and
Best Dramatic Moment. Also, fresh
from her success in Earnest, Mimi
Greenfield-Ginger scooped the Best
Youth Actress award for her part in
Urban Hymns!
All in all a very satisfactory few days
and the adjudicator’s comments
proved an excellent Master Class for
all. Hopefully we will all be back
better than ever next year - and I
certainly hope that perhaps the Pole
Dancers
will finally turn up to
perform their play (I know Doug and
Ray hope so too) :-)

We are delighted to announce that this year's Summer School production will be Disney's The Aristocats,
once again directed by Keith Badham. We are also going to present a Cabaret as part of the production
for the older attendees! As usual we expect
the demand for places to be high. The

Sunday 7th August to Saturday 13th.
The Committee has agreed the following productions for 2012.
This programme has been carefully chosen to provide variety for
