working on a zipper pouch. Please join us.
What’s for Dinner
Our next meeting will be on the third
Wednesday, October 19th meeting and
will feature “Winter Squash”. Please plan
on joining us at 6:30 PM. Call office to
RSVP by October 14th.
Quilt Club News
October is the last Quilt Club meeting before
our Thanksgiving/Christmas potluck dinner and
our winter hiatus. Bring your projects to share
and work on. Some members are only cutting
pieces and storing them in zip lock bags to be
sewn over the winter. Some are sewing at the
meetings. Come join the fun! Mark your
calendars for Oct. 17 at 6:30.
Tip of the month:
When sewing strips and tricky blocks, before you
measure the seam allowance, measure the
distance from the last seam sewn on the left. If
the next sew line is not exactly where the
completed piece is supposed to finish, adjust
your seam allowance. E.g. After sewing two 2 ½“
strips together, measure 2“ to the right of the
seam and that is where you need to sew the next
strip.

The Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service is the
most comprehensive outreach and engagement
program at the University of Kentucky.
Our mission, simply stated, is to make a difference in the lives of
Kentucky citizens through research-based education. Jointly with
our other land-grant partner, Kentucky State University, we take the
University to the people in their local communities, addressing
issues of importance of all Kentuckians.
