MISSOULA— Hoping to avert t h e ir seventh stra ig h t Skyline lo s s th is season,
the Montana G r iz z lie s charged through o ffe n s iv e and d efen sive workouts t h is
week with increased vim.
"I fra n k ly think our mental a ttitu d e is good , con sid erin g that the boys
haven't had a v ic t o r y a l l s e a s o n ," coach Ray Jenkins sa id .
"We’ ve had one
disappointment a fte r another a l l season, but the d e s ire to win i s s t i l l e v id e n t."
Stopping Colorado S tate U n iversity in th is Saturday’ s t i l t at Fort C o llin s
won’ t be an easy m atter, however.
The Rams, d esp ite th e ir 1-2 Skyline mark,
are always dangerous on t h e ir home t u r f.
"They have one o f the speediest b a c k fie ld s in the league, and the xvhole
squad sho’wed t e r r i f i c hu stle and s p i r i t , " was the comment o f end coach
Don Branby, who scouted CSU in t h e ir encounter with Utah State la s t weekend.
The in ju ry s itu a tio n appears s lig h t ly improved.

ago.
Halfback Howard Johnson and fu llb a c k Joe Pepe, who turned in a f u l l game
against BYU, both appear h e a lth ie r than at any poin t p re v io u sly in the season.

Charlie Moore and John Gregor, tackJ.es; Stan the Ram Penning and Dale Sparber,

Halfbacks Myron Peterson and
Uayne Schneider are the c h ie f th re a ts, and quarterback Freddy G lick is one o f
the best generals in the league.
G lick was in jured two weeks ago, but -will be
ready fo r action against Montana.

on 21 boots th is season.

Skyline in th is category.................Colorado State has wo" seven o f 10 fo o t b a ll
games with Montana.................Last Montana v ic to r y over the Rams was a 32-31
Homecoming t h r i l l e r at M issoula in 1953.................The liSU medley swimming team
missed the 4 : I S .6 n ational medley record by fou r seconds in t h e ir f i r s t annual
Aquacade la s t weekend................ Sophomore center Duane Ruegsegger sprained an
ankle in basketball p ra ctice la s t \reek and w ill miss about two weeks o f
workouts.
