Policies for Dual Degrees
1. Students are simultaneously enrolled in two different colleges.
2. Students must complete requirements for both degree programs.
3. General Education courses may overlap, but all GE requirements that are unique to one college must be competed (i.e.
Dual Business and JGC students must complete a foreign language for JGC and macroeconomics for Bus).
4. No overlap is allowable for major coursework (i.e. a Dual Poli Sci and JGC student may not count PS 3115 toward both
programs).
5. Students must earn a minimum of 151 credit hours.
6. Students must complete a specialization track or approved minor
7. Students receive two degrees, one from each college and must choose a college to walk with at commencement.
8. Students may graduate with both degrees in the same term or in different terms for each degree.
Policies for Double Majors (with Glenn College as primary unit)*
* Not available for every program, please consult your advisor.
1. Students must complete JGC General Education requirements.
2. Students must complete major requirements from other program.
3. Overlap between majors and between majors and GE is permitted, provided each major has a minimum of 18 unique
hours, and coursework for the second major is approved by the respective department.
4. Students pursuing double majors are not required to complete a specialization track or approved minor.
5. Students must earn a minimum of 121 hours.
6. The Glenn College is responsible for certifying the students for graduation with the other department certifying the
second major if not already done by DARS (similar to the policy regarding minors).
7. Students receive one degree—from the Glenn College, with the second major appearing on their transcripts.
8. Students may only graduate in one term.
Policies for Double Majors (with Glenn College as secondary unit)
1. Students must complete General Education requirements for their home college.
2. Students must complete the major core for the Public Affairs major (30 hours).
3. Overlap between majors and between majors and GE is permitted, provided each major has a minimum of 18 unique
hours.
4. Students pursuing double majors are not required to complete a specialization track or approved minor.
5. Students must earn the number of credit hours required for their home college.
6. The students’ home college is responsible for certifying them for graduation with the Glenn College certifying the
Public Affairs major if not already done by DARS (similar to the policy regarding minors).
7. Students receive one degree—from their primary college, with the Public Affairs major appearing on their transcripts.
