following discussion with SMSAs.

their ability to deliver PE lessons
improved by 27%. The teacher
noted significant further
improvement in providing a
spectrum of outcomes/objectives
to personalise the goals for
learners and providing pupils with
opportunities to take
responsibility for their learning
and change themselves and
others. The teacher is now more
confident in delivering the real PE
schemes of work to his class.
Children felt their confidence, selfesteem and attitude to learning in
PE improved by 1.7%. The children
reported the lessons to be ‘fun’,
‘good’ and ‘challenging’. One child
commented, ‘It’s harder than my
usual PE lesson’.

improvement in providing a
spectrum of outcomes/objectives
to personalise the goals for
learners and developing a clear,
shared learning journey with
progressive challenges embraced
by the learners. The teacher is
now more confident in delivering
the real PE schemes of work to her
class. Children felt their
confidence, self-esteem and
attitude to learning in PE
improved by 3.3%. One child
commented, ‘PE is really fun
because we get to do fun things
and sometimes it’s hard’.
