ANTITRUST LAWS - What You Need to Know!

ANTITRUST LAWS - What You Need to Know!
Lunch & Learn Seminar
Troutman Sanders Building | Richmond, VA.
July 27, 2017
12:00 pm to 3:30 pm
Overview:
Antitrust laws apply to virtually all industries and to every level of business. These laws prohibit a variety of
practices that could monopolize or restrain trade, such as price-fixing, bid rigging, and corporate mergers to reduce the competitive vigor of particular markets, and predatory acts designed to achieve or maintain monopoly power. In the late 1970’s
and early 1980’s, some companies and individuals in the asphalt industry were indicted and convicted of violating these laws.
It is advisable to periodically review antitrust laws and the VAA’s Antitrust Policies and Procedures. Therefore, in this seminar Mr. Hugh Fain, Esq. will cover current antitrust laws, review the antitrust violations of the 1970’s, discuss recent antitrust
cases, and provide best practices to avoid antitrust violations.
