Islands Railway, the Arthur Child Heritage Museum,
named for its founder, is located on the waterfront,
in the heart of Gananoque. Its picturesque location
and beautiful architecture provide visitors with a spot
to experience and remember the rich history and

At the Arthur Child Heritage Museum of
the 1000 Islands, our goal is to provide
teachers and students with an exciting
and interactive experience that will
encourage pride and interest in the
history, culture and ecology of the

Our diverse exhibits and engaging
suit the curriculum needs of all
students and grades.
In class presentations or “Museum in a
Box” that focus on the history of
Canada and the 1000 Islands, as well as
the vibrant wildlife and ecology that
make Gananoque and the St. Lawrence
so unique!
With our large rotunda as well as
numerous outdoor picnic areas we can
accommodate everyone for lunch as
well as cater any event for you!
