OPTION #1: Taste The Rainbow – 5 A Day Brochure- create an informational brochure or pamphlet that
might be left at the library for the public to learn from. This informational document should encourage eating
5 servings a day of fruit and vegetables and list health benefits of doing so. It should be in color and eye
catching. Using colored pencils or markers or other such medium is fine .

Option #3- 5 a day promotion at home. Requirements for a home lab. First have your
parents permission. Choose a vegetable or fruit side dish, appetizer, or salad to prepare at
home. This dish must be healthy. The recipe must be turned in and you must email
pictures of yourself making the dish at home, the finished product and have a parent or
guardian complete the at home lab sheet.

If your student’s plans of creating a dish at home have changed and now are unable to prepare a
dish at home, they can instead complete one of the remaining alternative assignments. They will
need to complete option 1 or 2 as a homework assignment and turn in project when finished.
