Ko Hong offers secluded anchorage, a useful stop over the way to or from Krabi and, one which is acceptable overnight
in the Northeast monsoon season or in very calm weather.
To the North of the sandy spit is an enticing bay which is particularly good for snorkelling and diving.
Ko Hong is so named because of its large internal lagoon, accessible only by dinghy across s shallow reef on tides above
one metre. This Hong about 200 metres across, is one of the biggest in the area and the sheer cliffs on all sides makes a
picturesque backdrop for photography. You can swim in the Hong at high tide.

Two possibilities for a Quiet Night:
1. Mooring at Ao Nang beach
Ao Nang beach is located near the most important place. Shops, bars and restaurants are found on the front beach. This is
the best place for some shopping and night lives.
Ao Nang is important because of its access to the main road to Krabi, thought it is the beauty of the beaches on the
peninsula immediately south that have made Krabi world famous.
Comfortable and secure anchorage in wide shallow bay can be found in about 5 metres mooring well offshore.
2. Mooring at “Railay Beach”
It is better to take one of the several moorings laid in the centre of the bay. This bay has spectacular stacks rocks which
form headlands to the North and the South. Restaurants and bungalows in the shade of coconut palms which fringe the
beach tend to be frequented by budget travellers. Extending out into the bay at the Southern end of the beach is a reef,
easily seen in the clear waters, and magnet for snorkelling. Also walking along the headland at low tide there are several
caves, fissures and spectacular overhangs to explore.

Ko Phi Phi Don:
Ko Phi Phi Don and Ko Phi Phi LE are one of best beautiful place in Andaman sea, those places are absolute must despite
the recent commercial development and the huge numbers of day-trippers which tend to make the island a little crowded
between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM
Still, it is very pleasant place to spend a few days with a boat.
In the south, the wonderful «Ton Sai Bay» very crowded with noisy motor boats creating uncomfortable choppy waves.
In the North, the beautiful «Ao Lohdalum Bay», less crowded.
Northerly “Lanay Bay», less vividness, but offers a more comfortable mooring by strong North East monsoon.
Nevertheless, Koh Phi Phi Don Visit should not be missed. Discover this magnificent place, the lively atmosphere and
test one of the numerous restaurants.

Ko Lanta well knows for the «French survivor» TV series. But I wouldn’t like to destroy the myth. The series had never
been act in Koh Lanta, but on 2 small islands named Koh Rok Nok and Koh Rok Nai, 15 miles away.
In fact, Koh Lanta is a peninsular with a lot of resorts and hotels along the beaches.

The anchorage is between the two towering cliffs and off a very small beach. The shoreline not hand south is
honeycombed with crevices and caves, making for excellent dinghy exploring. A few hundred metres south of the
anchorages is the entrance to the « Emerald Cave » is an 80 metre pitch dark passage way leading to completely enclosed
circular, cathedral like Hong, with a diameter of 60 metres. The walls are draped in lush foliage above a tiny patch of grey
silica sand beach an ethereal glow makes it seem as if you were encased inside an emerald, looking out. Access is
possible at most tides by swimming or canoe.
Do not try to go trough the passage without a reliable waterproof torch. This experience will remain etched in your
memory for the rest of your lifetime. Awesome!
Tunnel to access to «Emerald cave»
Exit from the tunnel at mid-tide.
Ko Kradan, is a small island with a recommended reef.
You can meet, as well, «Wally» the American citizen who has build a small resort in the middle of the jungle. We can
