Lately, you may have received
information in the mail from your
utility asking you to convert to
natural gas. The utility tells you that
“natural gas saves you money,” and
reassures you how inexpensive and
convenient it is to convert.

Oilheat is getting greener and cleaner:
The industry is voluntarily adopting low and
ultra-low sulfur Oilheat standards across the
country, which can lower the sulfur content to
15 parts per million – a reduction of more than
99% – and lower system emissions even further.
When combined with eco-friendly Bioheat® made
from renewable resources, ultra-low sulfur Oilheat
takes energy conservation to a new level. In fact,
in June Governor Rell signed a bill into law that will
create the cleanest home heating fuel in the nation
by virtually eliminating sulfur from heating oil, and
for the first time requiring a renewable fuel content
in our heating oil that begins at 2% and scales up
to 20% by 2020. This dramatic improvement is
expected to begin on July 1, 2011.
