Errgon Energy Seek to Stalll Negotiatio
ons Anotherr day was speent negotiating your new
w enterprise agreement w
with Ergon EEnergy management on Thurssday 17 November 2011. Whilst the re were som
me productive
e discussionss held, the co
ombined Energy Industry Unio
ons have ma
ajor concernss about Ergon Energy’s w
willingness too continue negotiatting the term
ms of your replacement aagreement.
At the co
onclusion of f the day’s ne
egotiations, EErgon Energyy advised tha
at they had rreached a po
osition where n
no further neegotiations co
ould occur a nd that theyy would be ta
abling a revissed offer on Friday 18 Noveember 2011. This came a
as a surprise to the union
ns as we have continued to demonstrate a willingneess to negotiate and reacch agreemennt. This was further dem
monstrated thhroughout th
he day with a number of ou
utstanding ite
ems being reesolved and tthe combine
ed unions tabbling a numb
ber of revised cclauses for cconsideration
n by Ergon Ennergy. After so
ome debate, Ergon Ene
ergy relucta ntly conceded that the
ey would m
meet with th
he Union bargaining representatives again
n next week . Unfortunaately it is nott clear to thee combined Unions if Ergon Energy intend
d to actuallyy bargain at tthose meetiings considering the possition they h
have now tabled. Whilst EErgon Energyy are yet to provide theeir revised “offer”, “
the combined c
unnions are co
oncerned that thee offer will not address the concernss of our mem
mbers which are reflecteed in the outtstanding claims. This appearrs to be merely an attem
mpt by Ergon
n Energy to d
delay negotiiations at this critical time. To progress negotiaations the co
ombined un ions are enccouraging all members tto participatte in the protecteed industrial action ballo
ot currently bbeing conduccted by the A
Australian Ellectoral Com
mmission. pport in votting in favou
Your sup

ndustrial action is a dem
monstration to Ergon Energy tthat negotiattions must co
ontinue and a substandaard offer will not be acce pted. Upon reeceipt of the revised Ergo
on Energy offfer, the combined unionss will providee an overview to all memberrs about how
