As previously indicated we need to re-sign every player to the new game and to ensure the draw is compliant from day one, it is absolutely imperative that we have the minimum of 37,500 tickets in play from the first draw onwards. To achieve this and protect the Lottery from possible permanent suspension by the Gambling Commission, the support of your members as our key players and ambassadors is fundamental. There is currently essentially one key message for which I need your Associations’ assistance with our communication of the new Lottery promotion1 : The RAF Sports Lottery is back, but you need to re-register online at www.rafcf.org.uk to play. 1 The Gambling Commission require any individual or organisation that is seen to promote a registered Lottery to hold an appropriate promotional licence with the Gambling Commission. It is however acceptable for individuals or organisations to assist a Lottery Promoter in the advertising of Lottery promotion. It is on this basis, as a Lottery Promoter, that I seek assistance from the Associations to advertise our re-launched Lottery promotional messages. The RAF Sports Lottery operates as a society lottery within the Royal Air Force Central Fund and is licensed and regulated by the Gambling Commission under licence number 000-005199-R-322422-001 The Royal Air Force Central Fund is a Company registered in England and Wales 8555984, Charity registered in England and Wales 1152560, Charity registered in Scotland SC044299 All of the Lottery game details and conditions can be found online, however I have attached some of the key information in the Appendix below for reference. Please communicate the key message and any of the supporting details on our behalf as widely as possible (social media is obviously fantastic for this). We do now additionally have (fledgling) Facebook and Twitter profiles, so please do feel free to share with us at: Facebook /RAFCentralFund Twitter @RAFCentralFund The updated RAF Central Fund (‘the Fund’) sports grant policy for individual and unit funding for 2016 is currently under final review by the Fund’s Board of Trustees. I will release the policy for your information as soon as it has received final approval, however in broad terms the policy, which will become effective on 1 Apr 16, will seek to: Ensure grant funding is available to all eligible RAF sports participants at a comparable level to the 2015 grant structure (i.e. a basic level of grant support will remain available to all RAF personnel meeting the grants criteria who chose not to play the Lottery). Enhanced grant funding will be available to all eligible RAF sports participants who play the Lottery. The level of enhanced grant support will be tiered according to the number of tickets held in play in the Lottery by the applicant. To reiterate, we need the re-launched Lottery to succeed from the start and I need the assistance of your members to ensure this happens. As ever, I thank you in advance for your support and if you would like to discuss any re-launch matters please do feel free to contact me or a member of my team on 95221 6458/7793/7532.
