Simply put buildings were stabilized by being weather-proofed simple roofs were applied when necessary and windows and doors were sealed to prevent access by trespassers and weather. The most cost effective solutions were sought. Meg Thornton/IMPC-FWA-PWE/(907) 361-3002/[email protected] UNCLASSIFIED 15 OF 18 11/04/2008 FONSS • Pleased and concurs with NPS EXCEPT: – They don’t feel the Launch control building could be stabilized inexpensively and feels the cost analysis needs to address the three different components of the building. – A full EPA and OSHA compliance analysis should be conducted and the cost analysis should be updated as necessary prior to any demolition. – They encourage USAG AK to pursue securing the concrete wing and re-roofing as soon as possible. – Recommend cost comparisons prior to any action being undertaken. – These reports are all based on visual assessments a hazardous materials survey must be completed prior to demo or stabilization and update costs as necessary.
