Narrative
Six Word Story
Look up the lyrics to a favorite song.
Write them down in the form of a poem.
In a couple of paragraphs, discuss the
meaning of the lyrics and/or your thoughts
on them.
Sometimes, we use common sense
and do the right thing or make the
best choice. But sometimes, we learn
lessons the hard way. Write about a
time in your life when you made the
wrong choice and learned a lesson the
hard way.
Legend has it that when Ernest
Hemingway was challenged to write a
six-word novel, he came up with, “For
Sale: baby shoes, never worn.” See how
it is quite a telling statement? Tell a
story of your own, using only six words.
Hobby?
Point of View
What hobby do you enjoy? Convince me
(your reader) that this is the best hobby to
have.
Write a scenario including dialogue
between a parent and a teen, perhaps an
argument. Write first from the teen’s
point of view, then from the parent’s
point of view.
Tell the story. Who is this? What’s
happening in the picture?
