Regional Board Positions Outline Other new creative positions can be created based on your unique interests and skills. Please Note Positions are appointed based on merit. Each chapter board is a mirror of this board and any time a regional board member wants to roll out a program they have an army of chapter board members across the region to implement the programs on a local level. Any position someone holds on regional board they also hold on their chapter board except for President. Executive Board The 5 members of the regional executive board represent the 5 primary objectives of the region. Executive board members are incoming seniors, who are dedicated and committed to serving NCSY as a leader, both in serving as role model to the ideals & values of Southern NCSY, and serving as lea 1. President Serve as the face of Southern NCSY, with willingness to speak and share with others the successes of the organization Ensure the functions of ALL OTHER members are being fulfilled. Make sure core members are signed up for conventions. Make sure that everyone (especially new and quiet participants) is comfortable and involved at all programs (especially shabbatons). Maintain current list of cell phone numbers and email addresses for advisors, board, and active members. Create and oversee regional and/or local board calendars handy at all times. Coordinate board meetings (including setting time and location). Write and distribute agendas prior to and at board meetings. Assign person to take minutes at meetings and email them to board following meeting. Coordinating regional board skit for shabbatons. Coordinate regional board shabbatons. 2. VP Communications Invite all new participants to FB group. Promote programs via word of mouth, phone calls, text messaging, email, hanging flyers at local shuls, JCC, kosher restaurants, and Jewish establishments. Coordinate marketing efforts (for Facebook and website). Take pictures and create videos at all events. Get contact info for any new people that come to events to be added to Database. Make short recruitment Youtube videos for shabbatons or local events. Make end of the year highlights video/slideshow. Send weekly Facebook messages of: (1) upcoming events from VP Programming, (2) shabbos greetings from President, VPR, or President, (3) divrei Torah from VP RE Add pictures (from VPR) to website and Facebook group. Add upcoming events to website and Facebook group. 3. VP Finance Acts as chair of the interns program. Must have participated in interns program the previous year to be considered for this position. 4. VPRE Coordinate weekly dvar Torah and forward to VP Technology to be sent out before shabbos along with upcoming programs, etc. Promote Torah Learning in the region (torah connect), promotes participation in weekly reg bo chaburah (i.e. sending weekly reminders), chair of global day of learning Coordinate divrei Torah for shabbatons (one per meal with equal representation from yeshiva day school and public school and different chapters.) Coordinate 12 divrei Torah for chapter onegs. Write thank you note to guest speakers. 5. VP Programming Create annual calendar of events. Plan and execute 2 major social events a year. Work directly with City and Club Directors to ensure engaging programming Involve everyone in all stages of programming. Assist as needed with overall programming for the region/chapter. Involved in all regional & district special programs including (but not limited to) shabbaton planning, sat night activity, special regional projects, regional chessed project, israel action program. 6. VP Greater South Leads Greater South district board Represents and leads the cities of the Greater South Coordinates with JSU and NCSY presidents to publicize shabbatons Coordinates district programs, events and initiatives Current active cities include: Jacksonville, Tampa, Savannah, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Atlanta, Huntsville, New Orleans, Nashville 7. VP South Florida Represents and leads the cities of South Florida and the district board Creates district CCP (council of Chapter Presidents) Coordinates district programs, events and initiatives Current active cities include: West Palm Beach, Boynton Beach, South Palm Beach, Coral Springs/Parkland, Broward County, Greater Miami, Miami Beach, South Miami District Boards Parallel district boards will serve the region, but focus on programs to greater enhance NCSY representation, activity and involvement in the Greater South & South Florida districts. District boards are led by the VP Greater South & VP South Florida (respectively). Both boards are considered members of regional board, expected to participate and serve on committees for all regional board objectives. 1. VP Summer Programs Recruit for summer programs. Create suggested summer programs participant list (which teens should go on what program). Help coordinate all aspects of summer program themed weekends. Coordinate one speaker for each shabbos meal at shabbatons to talk about the summer program they went on (have at least one TJJ speaker at each shabbaton). Make a recruitment video/slideshow including pictures of NCSY'ers from our region to be shown at Fall/Winter shabbaton. 2. VP Chessed Coordinate community service program at shabbatons when possible. Coordinate three community service events throughout the year. Special attention should be paid to how there can be a chessed component to regular chapter/regional programs. Mobilize the region if the need arises locally. Oversee Regional Tehillim Project Yachad Liason (in South Florida) 3. VP JSU Creates district CCP (Council of Club Presidents), uniting JSU club presidents and keeping them informed of all regional activities Takes active role in promotion & recruiting for JSU shabbaton & TJJ Plans & executes 1 JSU event during the year Encourages JSU club members to attend NCSY programs 4. VP Israel Action Promote awareness, love and pride of Israel within the region Plans and executes one district Israel Awareness event Recruits for the region’s delegation at AIPAC Promotes any district Israel initiatives (including JUMP Israel Programs) Involved in any regional or district Israel awareness or advocacy programs or initiatives 5. VP Juniors Plan and execute three junior events a year. Attend Jr Shabbatons. Announce upcoming events at local synagogues (that welcome NCSY) that have Jr Congregations. Call five juniors every erev shabbos. 6. JUMP Ambassador (SFL) Ideal candidate is someone who has participated on a JUMP team in a previous year Assists in promoting and recruiting JUMP teams at all JUMP schools in South Florida Stays informed of all JUMP events Coordinates newsletter promoting JUMP challenges Coordinates regional JUMP events Promotes NCSY activities to JUMP team members
