¾ The pure light of the laser causes photochemical reactions in the cells. Laser light photons are absorbed within the cells. This induces increased production of cellular energy (ATP), which leads to normalization of cell function, pain relief and healing. The effect of Low Level Laser Therapy is especially striking in areas of the body where cells are under stress. The treatment is thought to initiate a series of enzymatic reactions and bioelectric events, which stimulate the natural healing process at the cellular level. ¾ Laser therapy has shown therapeutic benefit in the following conditions: • • • • • • • • chronic pain acute (traumatic) pain neck, back pain tendinitis sports injuries painful trigger points carpal tunnel syndrome tennis/golfer elbow • • • • • • • • scars and keloids inflammatory skin conditions wounds and burns non-healing ulcers rheumatoid arthritis fibromyalgia lymphedema osteoarthritis • • migraines postherpetic neuralgia
