School/Faculty PhD Approval Form – Upgrade from Master’s
Reference: Doctoral Policy section 4.3.1 and PhD Procedures 3.1
Eligibility: Students wishing to upgrade to a PhD must:
 be currently enrolled in a Master's by thesis at Victoria; and
 be within 11 months of first enrolment for the Master's thesis; and
 not have submitted the Master's thesis for examination.
Please note: Students wishing to upgrade to a PhD are not required to fill in an Application for PhD Admission
form. However, if they wish to be considered for a Victoria PhD Scholarship, they must complete the Victoria PhD
Scholarship Application Form for consideration in the next round.
Section A is to be completed by the Supervisor
Section B is to be completed by the Chair (or nominee) of the School/Programme Research Committee
Section C is to be completed by the Associate Dean (PGR) in the home Faculty
