Lap Swimming includes all abilities/speeds and water joggers. Circle swimming is encouraged and may be required. Music over the noon hour will be ON from 11am-12pm and OFF from 12-1pm. All other times, music will be turned on/off at the lifeguard’s discretion/program schedule. Pool schedules are subject to change according to class registrations. Part of the pools may be used for staff training. Children ages 7 and under must be accompanied in all pools by a competent adult (ages 18+). The lifeguard may limit any activities that affect the safety and enjoyment of pool users. A shower is required before entering the pool. Children ages 7 and under must be accompanied in all pools by a parent/guardian. The parent/guardian must be in the water and within arms reach of the child at all times. Children must be toilet-trained or wear tightly fitted plastic pants or swim diapers. Proper swim attire must be worn by all swimmers. Please keep any food, drink, or gum in the lobby area. Plastic water bottles are permitted. Admission to the pools will be refused to persons with infections such as rashes, open wounds, etc. Bandages of any sort must be removed prior to entering the pool. Please do not swim if you have recently had diarrhea. For your safety, and the safety of others, no dangerous activities will be allowed. All activities may be limited by the lifeguards. Please walk on the pool deck. No diving in the shallow end of the pool and in other areas marked “No Diving”. Playing on steps, ladders, lane lines, and safety ropes is prohibited. Pool equipment will be issued and removed at the lifeguard’s discretion. All floatation devices for children outside of programs must be United States Coast Guard Approved. A swim test must be done on every patron appearing under the age of 18 before swimming in the deep end. • The lifeguard is the final authority. The lifeguard may limit any activities that affect the safety and enjoyment of Spa/Sauna/Steam room users. Sauna/Spa/Steam Room Safety Rules Per Iowa Health Code 641-15.4(6): • Patrons are to limit their time in the sauna, spa and steam room to 10 minutes or less. • Persons with a medical condition, including pregnancy, should not use the spa without first consulting with a physician. • Anyone having a contagious disease shall not use the spa. • Persons shall not use the spa immediately following exercise or while under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, or other drugs. • No one shall dive or jump into the spa. Age Restrictions: Patrons ages 15 and under are prohibited from using the sauna, spa, and steam room. Slide Safety Rules • • • • • • • • • • The lifeguard is the final authority. The lifeguard may limit any activities that affect the safety and enjoyment of slide usage. A swim test is required on every patron appearing under the age of 18 before using the large slide. Children ages 5 and under may use the large slide if accompanied in all pools by a parent/guardian. Parents catching children at the bottom of the large slide is not permitted. Running, standing, kneeling, rotating, tumbling or stopping on the large slide is not permitted. Slide is only to be used while lying on your back, feet first, with feet and arms crossed. Please exit the water slide catch pool promptly. Forming chains is not allowed on the slides. Feet and hands must be kept inside the slides at all times. Diving is not permitted on the slides. One person at time on the slides.
