Revocation of uses
Notice is hereby given that in exercise of the powers conferred by Regulation 5 of the
Control of Pesticides Regulations 1986 (SI 1986/1510) (as amended) and of all other
powers enabling them in that behalf, the Secretary of State, and the Scottish Ministers (as
regards Scotland) and the National Assembly for Wales and the Secretary of State (acting
jointly as regards Wales) have amended the conditions of approval of the pesticides listed
in the Schedule below containing the active substance carbendazim
(a)
Revoked approval for the advertisement, sale, supply, storage and use in
respect of the product and its uses listed in the Schedule below.
(b)
Granted approval until 30 June 2007 for advertisement, sale, supply, storage
and use in the respect of the product and its uses listed in the Schedule
below.
(c)
Granted approval for a further 12 months for the advertisement, sale, supply
and use by persons other than the approval holder or their agents and for
storage by anyone in respect of the products and its uses listed in the
Schedule below.
(d)
Imposed, as a condition of approval, the requirement that labels of the
named products, placed into the supply chain from 30 June 2007 are
amended as detailed below.

Adverse Effects:
Approval holders are under an on-going obligation to submit immediately any new
information on the potentially dangerous effects of a product or of residues of an active
substance contained in a product, on human or animal health, ground water or the
environment.

EXPLANATORY NOTE
1. This Notice has been issued to implement the provisions of Commission Directive
2006/135/EC following the inclusion of carbendazim in Annex I to Council Directive
91/414/EEC.
2. This Notice amends the conditions of sale and supply for the approval holder and their
agents, from the 30 June 2007. The recommendation for use, other than worm control on
managed amenity turf must be deleted from the label of products placed in the supply
chain after this date. No action is required with respect to product already in the supply
chain.
3. Approval holders and their agents can store products with the uncorrected label until 30
June 2008.
4. Any person other than the approval holder also has until 30 June 2008 to advertise, sell,
supply and use up stocks safely with the uncorrected label. After this date, these products
can only be used as worm control on managed turf and labels must reflect this.
