The Minor requires a core of courses in economic theory and applications along with a selection of electives that can be tailored to the student’s personal interests. This Minor is highly recommended for students considering graduate school in business, economics, law or public administration. Not open to students in the Economics (BS) or Economics (BSBA). Not open to students in the Mathematical Economics concentration of the Mathematics (BS) major. Note: ECO 3401 (or equivalents) is a pre-requisite for the following: ECO 3101 Intermediate Microeconomics 3 hrs ECO 3203 Intermediate Macroeconomics 3 hrs Foreign Language Requirements None Total Semester Hours Required 18 Other Requirements A minimum GPA of 2.0 is required in all courses used to satisfy the minor. Grades below “C” (2.0) or “S” grades from other institutions are not accepted. Courses taken at Florida College System institutions do not substitute for upper division courses. Courses transferred must be formally evaluated for equivalency credit. The student must provide a course syllabus and any other supporting information with his/her petition for this evaluation. At least nine hours used in the minor must be earned at UCF within the department. No credit by exam (TSD, Military credit) may be used. Internship, Independent Study, or Directed Research credit cannot be used toward the minor.
